Basic Information bout Scuba Diving

SCUBA is an acronym which expands as Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Scuba diving is a form of underwater diving where the diver uses a scuba apparatus to breathe underwater. It is a common recreational activity and tends to be very enjoyable. Scuba Diving is quite different than the early methods of diving which involved air being pumped from the surface to sustain oxygen for the divers, Scuba diving on the other hand allows the divers to carry their own source of compressed air or oxygen. This technique allows divers to extend the duration of time spent underwater like in snorkeling and free-diving methods.
The divers movement is controlled by a swim fin which is worn on each of the divers feet making movement underwater quite easier. An alternative to this method is external propulsion which can originate from an underwater sled or vehicle. Scuba-diving has many sub-classes and can be classified as either personal diving or professional diving. Personal diving, as the name suggests, indicates that the diver merely wishes to scuba dive for recreational and enjoyment purposes and nothing else. The professional form of diving on the other hand is carried out for various activities such as civil engineering tasks, oil exploration and off shore excavations. Professional diving also deals with marine activities such as spear fishing and searching for salvage wrecks under the water.
There are many tasks such as: underwater marine life research; underwater archaeology and marine biology that consist of scuba diving. Personal diving or recreational diving generally include cave diving, ice diving, deep driving and wreck diving.
Water contains oxygen which is dissolved because most forms of aquatic life forms expel oxygen from their gills. As the humans do not have gills they hence require a breathing gas in a container or cylinder at ambient pressure. This is achieved by modern valve regulators which allows the user to inhale and exhale at ease regardless of the depth or density of the water. <keyword>add</keyword>

Scuba can be rightly called as an entertainment activity which can be enjoyed by all sorts of people regardless of their age. Such an activity is becoming popular all over the world especially in Florida (North America). This is because Florida has a tropical climate which favors scuba diving a lot.
What is scuba?
The acronym Scuba stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. The acronym is mostly used by the people for representing diving. People who wish to dive in the sea, lake or oceans may understand the uses of scuba to a greater extent. Wherever diving is possible, scuba plays an important role. The scuba is nothing but an apparatus used for breathing under water. The apparatus is created such that it consists of a cylinder which carries compressed air that helps aid breathing while diving under the sea. In addition to the cylinder, hoses are also present. Inhalation of air from the cylinder is possible with the help of hoses. The inhaled air after breathing is exhaled out into the water.
Variety of scuba diving units:
Three types of scuba diving units are available nowadays. They can be classified as open circuit, closed circuit and semi closed circuit. There are some major differences between these types of circuits. When we see in detail, we can understand that the open circuit scubas are used only for recreational activity where the inhaled air is exhaled out into the water. In closed circuit scuba gear, additional special devices are attached to the scuba which allows the exhaled air to be used once again by recycling the air. This is one of the major advantages of closed circuit scuba. Closed circuit finds its applications mostly in professional courses such as deep diving.
Using scuba, one can dive deep into the sea and stay there for periods of time but this is not possible using other diving apparatus, thus, scuba assists the divers to a greater extent and also protects them. <keyword>period</keyword>

Scuba Diving An Overview

Diving is generally considered as an adventurous activity. At present lot of people are showing keen interest in knowing the art of diving. Apart from adventure people dive in oceans for some technical researching about ocean life and its creatures. Divers usually hold their breath while diving. Using breath holding techniques, divers are not able to stay for longer duration under the water. Soon divers were supplied with compressed air pumped from the surface of the ocean. With this technique divers were not able to dive deeper into the ocean. To stay longer in the ocean and dive deeper scuba diving techniques evolved. Scuba is an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. Later on scuba was used as a regular word for denoting scuba diving.
The scuba apparatus contains compressed air in a cylinder and the cylinder is equipped with hoses to enable breathing underwater. This underwater breathing equipment was first discovered by Jacques Yuves Cousteau and Emile Gagnan. In this system of compressed air breathing divers breathe air from the cylinder and will exhale in to the water. Later on using this technique a lot of advanced scuba devices evolved to take divers safely underwater without any problems. Scuba diving is basically done for professional purposes and even sometimes personally to exploit the underwater lives. At present scuba diving is explicitly made as recreational diving as it brings a lot of entertainment and enjoyment to people. Also it creates more interest in people to learn about diving and also to enjoy natures beauty under the water.
Scuba diving is used in all kinds of professional businesses involving oceans. Some of the civil engineering works like the underwater welding, oil exploration, offshore construction, etc. are carried out with the help of scuba diving techniques. <keyword>post</keyword>

Underwater Communication during Scuba Diving

When diving inside an ocean with a team or a friend, divers need to communicate with them often to inform each other of possible danger or distress. A part of learning scuba diving means learning the forms of communication and understanding signals from fellow divers. A scuba mask that covers the entire face (full mask) allows divers to communicate to each other through voice. When using only goggles in scuba diving hand signal communication is very important. If a diver is not able to interpret the signals from other divers or misunderstands signals they risk the chance danger.
Almost every scuba diving school teaches and trains people to learn and understand the hand signals that are to be used in scuba diving. Using hand signals underwater will allow divers to exchange questions and answers between each other.
The most important signals to be used in scuba diving are given below:
By making an O with the pointer finger and thumb and the other fingers pointing upwards they are signalling to others they are okay.
Fist closed with thumb upward or downward gives direction to move up or down in the ocean.
Learn symbols to indicate the pressure levels as shown in the regulator. If there is a problem, hand flat and tilt to one side. For stopping a diver or asking him to follow along are simple signals which any one can learn easily and understand easily.
It is important to make sure that other divers are capable of understanding each others signals. Make the signals slowly and clearly. Before diving, just try out some most commonly used signals as it will be useful for all participants. <keyword>last</keyword>

Scuba diving is well known for people having keen interest in diving underwater. The name SCUBA is derived from the acronym Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. The acronym scuba was later used as a general English word by people. Scuba diving is basically done to explore the underwater adventure and to exploit the resources lying beneath oceans. There are many types of scuba diving and you can always add some new ideas to do with scuba diving. Some of the most popular scuba diving types are discussed here in this article.
Major scuba diving types:
Commercial diving or professional diving:
Commercial scuba dive is done to research the underwater world and to make some profit out of it. Usually they will try to study about the underwater properties and will effectively utilize for some commercial purpose like constructing some structures inside water, platforms for oil extraction, taking part in some salvage operations, conduction of many underwater surveys, etc.
Military scuba diving:
Military scuba diving is exactly the same as the commercial scuba diving also including some of the military works like taking part in surveillances underwater, clearing of mines underwater and involving in any research related to military field. It is to be noted that all the advancement in the equipments used underwater and medicines during dives are found only because of the scientists and military divers.
Technical scuba diving:
Technical scuba diving is mainly done to explore all the features of marine world. The technical scuba divers move very deep into the oceans where people have never gone before. This is just like an advanced recreational diving with much more training and advanced equipments.
Recreational scuba diving:
Recreational scuba diving is carried out to bring some thrill and fun from the underwater world. People at their free times or during their vacations take a dive in oceans simply for relaxation purpose. Anyone can take part in this recreational scuba diving. <keyword>and</keyword>

Does Age Affect Scuba Diving Career?

Scuba diving is open for people of all ages. Any one above the age of eight can join scuba diving training sessions and can start their scuba diving career. Depending on your training performance you will be awarded with scuba diving certifications. Children at the age of ten are eligible for obtaining junior open water diver certificates and children of age fifteen and above are eligible for open water diver certificates. After obtaining these certificates there is nothing to fear about open water diving with scuba apparatus. With latest advancements in scuba diving devices divers will feel safe and secure diving under water.
At present scuba diving is used as a recreational activity where tourists are allowed to scuba dive without the training of scuba apparatus usage and underwater safety measures. Lack of this training is the main reason for fatal accidents occurring under water. Young people take advantage of the scuba apparatus and dive recklessly under water without any limitations. Many diving associations are now strictly insisting upon providing training sessions even for tourists. Basic training for scuba diving takes less than three days and any one can learn easily using the scuba apparatus.
There are important things to keep in mind during scuba dive training. Apart from age, health factor is very important. Before taking scuba diving a medical questionnaire session will be conducted where medical officials will ask you about your health problems. People having any problems related to heart are restricted from taking scuba diving. It has been found that about 70% of the fatalities are because of heart attacks or cardiac arrest under water. Apart from these problems people who are generally fit are eligible for taking scuba diving. <keyword>and</keyword>

Scuba Diving Equipment Considered Effective
And Safe Underwater

Humans are able to live on land where there is plenty of air around them to breathe but they are not able to survive beneath the surface of the water. Humans have a great desire to explore the water world and to know how water creatures survive in the water. Here in this article you will find some points regarding the usage of scuba equipment and it uses.
Going deep into water and exploring oceans is made possible with the help of the scuba apparatus. Scuba is an acronym which stands for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. This apparatus was discovered during World War 2 and is now helping researchers and commercial people to know the facts of the oceans. This equipment is also now used for recreational activity that is earning more reputation day by day.
The safety of scuba diving not only relies upon the skill of the scuba diver but it also depends on how effectively the diver uses the scuba equipment. The divers skin is covered tightly by the first layer of the scuba equipment which is made up of synthetic rubber that is lined with some nylon material. This acts as a protective wall in between the skin of the diver and water medium.
The wet suit always keeps the skin of the diver dry and also absorbs divers body heat. This action will protect you from hypothermia. Along with this flippers are worn by the scuba diver that helps them to move freely underwater. Next scuba divers should be accompanied an with oxygen tank. This tank is strapped at their back. Advanced tanks have the provision to visually notice the level of oxygen present in the tank with the help of sensors and pressure gauges.
The most important thing included in the scuba equipment is the face mask. This mask protects all your important organs like nose, ears and eyes and also helps in supplying oxygen to you when you are deep in water. Before using the apparels, it is important to read the user manual on how to use them according to the specification. <keyword>finish</keyword>

Explore the Underwater Adventure with the Help of Scuba Apparatus

Man has explored nearly each and every part of the earth; even the moon has been explored. Exploring the beauty of oceans and life underneath water does not require much training or fitness. Now any one above the age of eight can become a scuba diver and get down as deep as possible in oceans.
Everyone knows well that humans cannot breathe underwater like fish or other water creatures. So to solve this problem of breathing underwater two men found created a breathing device. It is called a scuba apparatus. Scuba apparatus is a device supporting breathing underwater without any problems. It contains a cylinder filled with compressed air that is supplied to the diver through rubber hoses for inhaling and exhaling underwater.
With this scuba diving apparatus people are now able to move deep into the oceans to explore the life of sea animals. You can clearly witness the lifestyle of water creatures and how they feed, how they protect themselves and how they survive among their rivals. Divers will be completely amazed by the sight of all these things. It is a wonderful opportunity for divers to see the underwater life.
Scuba divers need to be very cautious while diving. If a scuba diver dives recklessly there are possibilities of accidents due to their carelessness and it could be fatal. So before a diver decides to get involved in this extreme adventure they need to be sure they are well trained and prepared. <keyword>end</keyword>

Advantage of Using Scuba Diving Units

Scuba is an underwater diving apparatus which is widely used nowadays in all fields involving underwater research and also for recreational activities. Scuba means self contained underwater breathing apparatus. In older days, air line was used as a source of breathing under water. In those days, air which is pumped from the surface is used mostly for diving. A scuba set has many advantages and gives the divers maximum freedom while diving. Mostly scuba divers used to carry with them the breathing gas which is in the form of compressed air. The scuba divers can stay underneath water for a much longer time when compared with free diving and snorkelling.
Diving is a sort of entertainment which relieves us from normal work. People who are trying to give a pause to their routine life can spend their time in scuba diving. The reason behind many people spending their time in scuba diving is that they are really excited and thrilled when they use scuba apparatus and while admiring the beauty of the water world. Scuba diving is practiced in all major tourist spots of the world. Learning scuba diving is a very easy task. All you have to know about scuba diving is how to operate the scuba apparatus when you are underwater. In addition you must be careful while diving in oceans because recklessness may even result in fatal accidents.
Apart from recreational activity scuba diving is used in for technical work and also for professional work. Many researchers of underwater world are using scuba apparatus to explore the beauty of water world and to learn about the living species inside oceans. Scuba diving is also used for oil exploration, underwater welding and offshore constructions, etc. It is even employed in large aquariums for cleaning purposes. <keyword>more</keyword>
